Week 3 EOC: My Demographics

"The term Millennials is usually considered to apply to individuals who reached adulthood around the turn of the 21st century. " (whatis.techtarget.com)  From generation to generation there are several generations. The six that I can name from are: The Greatest Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y, Millennials, and TBD. The Greatest Generation is seen as the people that had fought and also died in World Ward 2. “The generation ended when the war ended.” (Thealantic.com). The Baby Boomers were the ones that began when the Greatest Generation came and started getting physical with every human being. “It ended when having sex with everyone was made easier with The Pill.” (thealantic.com). Generation X is the time frame from the year 1965 to 1984. The Generation Y is different; it started when young kids started to realize that they did not fit in with Generation X. “mid-1970s when the oldest were born to the mid-2000s when the youngest were." The Millennials were “THE NEXT GENERATION.” "as those born in 1982 and approximately the 20 years thereafter." TBD is the generation are the kids of today that were born within the last 10 years. TBD generation is not the same as the Millenial generation. “Millennials possess all the traits discussed; these are really, more or less, generalizations.” (Themillenniallgacy) Yes, I would consider myself as a millennial and that is simply because I was born in the year 1995 making me 20 years old. My siblings would also be considered millennials as well.  My parents would be in the Baby Boomer Generation.

Week 2 EOC: Videogames

Video Makers Can’t Dodge Recession

Recession has now reached to the industry of video games. While other businesses have reached several; declines in their sales and their profit the industry of video games has been becoming somewhat successful. Analysts are now predicting a 5% growth from their earnings back in 2008 of 11 million dollars. “Strategic plan establishes what kinds of businesses the company will operate.” (Armstrong 47) Consumers are now waiting for Nintendo, Microsoft, or Sony Corp. to cut some of their prices. The sales for consoles and games for the PC are in competition with the digital games that are now being downloaded from Apply. Most of the games come at a low cost of 99 cents. "It's highlighting the weak months because if people don't really have a reason to go out to the store, they're not," (John Taylor 2) If consumers don’t have a reason to go out and buy something they wont, unless something that catches their eyes comes out. Several executives for videogames are not giving up and remain positive about this industry. “The purpose of strategic planning is to find ways in which the company can best use its strengths to take advantage of attractive opportunities in the environment. “ (Armstrong 43) Sony and Nintendo are two companies that will not be the ones to have price cuts, and Microsoft is left unknown for now. Since several games have updates or new online features, they can easily be updated making their consumers wanting to keep these games to re-play several continuous times. With new and different updates or new online features, this provides games with much more value and that makes consumers not buy stuff that they do not really need due to the new and different updates and new online features.

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Experience

The time I had an unexpected great customer service experience was when I went to a Pizza Restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles in California. It was just my friend and I and we ordered a large pizza, bread, and some drinks. We went to go take a seat and waited patiently. As every customer went up to go get there pizza, we noticed that our order was called out or an order that was exactly the same as what we ordered. A random couple went up to get that order, so we assumed that was not out order. The time passed and we were there for a good 30 minutes or more still waiting on our order. My friend went up to the cashier to inform her that we did not receive our order. What had happened was that someone else went up to go get our order and they apparently forgot what they even had ordered. They had ordered something completely different than what we ordered. My friend and I were not upset nor were we mad but we were just a little annoyed that we have been waiting for a while and others who came after us have already received there orders. The cashier was able to receive approval from her manager to refund our order. My friend and I ended up getting free food without any argument what so ever. The manager also informed us that if there was anything else we would like to have we could also get an order of that. This was a time where I received great service because sometimes some companies don’t want to admit to any mistakes that have been made when it was not even the customer’s fault in the first place. We also received a half off our next order which made us even more happy.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

My name is Tiffany Quezada and I am soon to be a Fashion Major. Once I graduate school next summer, I will be graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and I will be known as a Fashion Major. Going to college has taken me through many obstacles; so far I can say I have learned a lot here that I have not known before. I have learned about subjects that I never thought I would have an interest in. I have always loved fashion for as long as I could remember. I believe fashion has many factors that need to be understood in order to succeed in this industry. Some factors include fashion events such as shows, new collections, buying for upcoming seasons, and many more. Fashion is just another way to express who you really are. I would say, “Through fashion anything is possible.” That is because through fashion you never know where it will take you, sometimes you might but sometimes you might not know. Fashion can definitely help bring the creative side out of someone and that is why I love it. I may not know where Fashion might take me in the future but I know that where ever it does take me I will be loving what I do.
